This is the right take, but I don’t think it is a conspiracy; there are good reasons why some of her policy proscriptions are viewed with skepticism by economist. She was a progressive pick, but the Democratic party has a pretty big tent. 

I’m a Democrat and I don’t like Prof. Omarova’s policies regarding banking regulations. There are a fair amount who think they do more harm than good, overall. The “communist” schtick was disgusting but he nomination failed based on policy disagreements within the Democratic party.

Seeing a guy strapped in the cereal aisle of the grocery story made me sick to my stomach, but a person can bring a gun pretty much anywhere in this country.  You can’t assume it’s an act of aggression, despite what common sense and your instincts tell you.

And while Kyle’s rifle was legal, Grosskreutz’s was indeed illegal, as he had not only been arrested for holding a weapon while drunk, but his license expired long before the protest.
