Exactly, can be a cheap one. As long as it's out of the wind (or windproofed) and mounted right. It's easier than it looks and improves the video by so much.

I don't have anything in mind, and I'm reeeeallly not an expert. And I don't live in the US so I don't know where to look for a cheap setup.

Yeah, but a decent mic with accessories to mount it properly and avoid wind noise can cost you under $100 while a GoPro costs 4 times that much.
