That’s just false. Spending EXP only gives a mediocre boost in max HP and some extra AP. The ascension tree is where the actual skill and character boosting comes from. If he spends in the AP tree, then he leveled up.

There are a lot of people that see these areas and complain that the game is unfinished and there is so many unused resources that felt really wasted. Its obvious that these resources are put there for use in later DLC so they can just release a small DLC and not require a 10GB DLC to download whole new maps.
