If the sale was good you may even still be able to do it at a reduced price for your customer and yet make a profit. As for people paying more than they should, maybe its someone’s relative just buying them a video game but…

That is the extent of my understanding, but for the scam I am talking about you make your money when they buy it, so you don’t need to refund if they open it. It is just a riskfree way to become an unnecessary middleman to rubes.

How about this scam? Buy a game as a gift, preferably on sale, then offer it on amazon/ebay/whatever for more than you paid. If it sells, give them code and end of story. If 12 days go by and no sale, refund. Wait should I not hit publish?

I don’t think any scams are going to impact anyone’s bottom line. This really is a pretty great change for consumers.

The scammers are a coming for sure. Sell an online code and then return for refund is my first thought, but hopefully was one of Valve’s too.
