I totally disagree with the Mustang. Although it was a great platform for drag racing, it was fundamentally a terrible car which had to be modified to be good.

Old cars are not always significant. The R32 GT-R pushed the envelope and matters as much as the E30 M3, but the R32 GTS was just a commuter car with a turbo on it. A rotary engine that was only sold in Japan doesn’t automatically mean significant.

The BMW i8, for showing us the future of cars can still be fun for enthusiasts. The are so many great cars on the market, the new Miata comes to mind, but few truly drive the market forward like the i8 has. It is just as revolutionary as the Tesla was and possible more significant.

Wouldn’t it have been cheaper to by an S55 (or comparable) which wasn’t broken?
