Some “car people” are literally just status whores who convince themselves that new cars are always “good investments” and that people who disagree simply don’t understand the car market. They are delusional. A brand new car is not a wise investment for someone just out of school, already making student loan payments.

I am 27 years old. When I was 22, I bought a 2002 Subaru Outback with 95k on it for $3200. It just shit the bed on me in January. On average I put about $800-1000 per year into it, which includes oil changes/inspections as well as things breaking.

Yes and no. In their first 27 seasons they made it to one Super Bowl, and promptly got throttled. They were generally pretty bad in the AFL too.
