You’re better off. The game stinks. And this is coming from someone who didn’t have any seriously major moral conundrums about buying it. It’s a copy&paste Ubisoft quest-fetch game with Hogwarts as a backdrop.

More shockingly, neither did the fact that the game is tedious and bad.

It’s literally never going to change. I’d argue that Kotaku even running articles like this about 2k/FIFA/etc. actually just propagates this concept that “maybe one of these days it will change”. Which in turn has people continuing to buy these games year after year.

On top of this, you won’t have to pay for a lot of the system changes, as they’ll be part of the main game, free of charge, So the amount of upfront investment you’ll have to pay when you start for what the studio is positioning as the better experience is much smaller than it will be if you buy the $30 Phan…

I haven’t touched Witcher 3 since putting over 300 hours into it back in maybe 2017...you mean to tell me that they’re still patching the game and yet the inventory screens are still the same?!?!

A lot of the complaints were out of pocket but as a slight defense to some... I think a lot of readers found out of Fahey’s passing offhand in a comment section, etc. Seemed like a lot of that initial (misguided) reaction was due to finding out so abruptly, while still seeing other Kotaku posts going up.

Jesus Christ. Just don’t play this fucking game! It’s that simple! I understand that folks love Diablo and just want to play Diablo but...this is clearly a grift. Complaining about it being a grift, and continuing to play it (and more importantly spend money on it) anyways, just makes you a mark.
