He said basically what a lot of others have said about Norton - you hire him as an actor, you also get someone who wants to rewrite/co-direct (and in the case of American History X, edit) your movie - whether you want him to or not.

This is one of those albums that feels overlong at 65 minutes, but I’m not really sure what I’d cut. None of the tracks on it are bad - it just kinda goes on and on, which I guess kinda fits your “exhausted on the road” metaphor. Granted it’s more of a compact disc-era problem of bloated album runtimes.

I think if you want to put a late-period Simpsons episode in the list, I’d put in “Halloween of Horror” from Season 27 (Good Lord..27). It’s amazingly the only non-Treehouse of Horror Halloween episode they’ve ever done, and it’s very good.

Oh my God, I had never seen that Seinfeld clip. I’m losing it here at work.

No questions about the deuce itself? Whether he had any trepidation about being filmed dropping a couple off into a suitcase, or the “movie magic” on how it was done (assuming forced perspective; didn’t seem like CGI dumping)?

Laura Dern playing her Enlightened character goes to a White Lotus resort. *crosses fingers*

As far as I can tell online, Undone Season 2 is still happening and still with Rosa, though COVID seems to have thrown things into disarray production-wise.

His feet are light and nimble. He never tweets. He says that he will never die. He dances in light and in shadow and he is a great favorite. He never tweets, the McCarthy. He is dancing, dancing. He says that he will never die.

Me too. I love that (reboot aside), it’s one of the few horror series that has had the same guy involved creatively with it the whole run. The only other ones I can think of offhand are the Phantasm series with Don Coscarelli, and the Evil Dead series to an extent with Sam Raimi.

Let’s see if Jeff Anderson can avoid the hattrick of getting screwed over for money from being in a Clerks movie for the 3rd time. Maybe the lack of Weinstein involvement will help this go around.

Yeah, I saw some recent footage of him taken from a documentary that came out in the last year or so. He’s looking...pretty rough, to say to least.

Iggy Pop is right there alongside Keith Richards (they’re only 3 years apart) in the “holy shit, how is he still alive and functional after that many years of drug/body abuse?” department. Outlived Lou Reed, outlived David Bowie, outlived all his fellow original Stooges. Some people just seem to be built to survive

One of my favorites was when he was on promoting Ant-Man, and they legitimately starting showing a clip from it...only for it to turn into Mac and Me with Ant-Man pasted in to react to it. Beautiful.

I completely thought it was Rogen until I read the article and was wondering how the hell a Mikkelsen/Rogen buddy action movie happened.

Aww, I was hoping for The Wrong Guy to pop up.

I warned ya about not buying physical media! Didn’t I warn ya?!?

The “unsettling” quality is probably the only thing about Manos (the movie itself, putting aside the episode) that works - it’s like Joel’s riff about every shot looking like a person’s last known photo or Crow wondering if the Mads sent them a snuff film. There’s just something so...”off” about the production that

Reading through this, it seems like there’s some parallels between the Movie and the Netflix run in terms of a lot of upper interference - “The movies need to be short - cut them below 80 minutes. And they all need to be in color. Squeeze in as many riffs as quickly possible. We need to make it ‘bingeable’ - give next

All these years, I’d never heard that Naomi was about Naomi Yang from Galaxie 500, and that Jeff (probably?) never actually knew her. That...certainly changes my perspective of the song a bit.

I feel like people way overstate how much “tinkering” Scott has done in regards to the multiple versions of Blade Runner that have come out over the years - one version was a workprint that he wasn’t involved in the public release of and is something that every film has, the US and European Cuts are the same movie
