Yes, the additional files won't interfere with the Linux install, unless in some bizarre coincidence they share the same name and overwrite a system file, but that won't happen.

ReadyBoost uses the thumb drive as a secondary cache. It ends up working faster as it's a second avenue to pull data while the hard drive's transfer capacity is being maxed out.
The flash drive can be used in any way you wish. You don't HAVE to format it in any particular way as Linux can work with most filesystems quite happily.
But all of those reasons are earth reasons.
All that tech stuff is nice, but they really do need a security guard to keep the photographers out.

Look at most mammals. It follows the same template. Humans, dogs, giraffes, etc are all basically laid out the same way. symmetrical, 4 limbs, head, 2 eyes, ears, nostrils, internal organs providing the same functions..... and so on.
