Luke’s ending is actually awesome and a very intriguing new way to think about the force. He’s the only one that actually managed to bring balance to the force. I think the fact that the other Jedi couldn’t see past the whole Light/Dark dichotomy is part of why they failed so hard in the prequels; if they were truly

The problem is that the story of how Luke became disillusioned is too big to be told in a few flashbacks. The problems with the sequel trilogy go all the way to the decision to make them focused on new characters, yet have their story stay connected to the old characters. The story needs to focus primarily on the new

I think the much bigger factor was that the story challenged some fans expectations in ways that they did not like. I truly doubt that issues of representation drive ticket sales to a significant degree, in either direction. Sure, some people get angry about minority, female, and LGBTQ+ characters. And many people

Make the fines escalate for those that exceed the limits by such huge amounts. there is probably some escalation there already, I’m saying add another one, and make it ridiculously steep. If Sylvester Stallone wants to live on a property with 500 mature trees in the desert, then make him spend a couple hundred grand

I don’t get the bad press for Bullet Train. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Sure, it’s not great cinema or anything, but it’s a hell of a lot of fun and the plot actually made more sense than I expected it to based on the trailers.

I was bummed when I didn’t have a chance to take my kids to see it on the local IMAX screen (my wife and I saw it there with a group of friends opening weekend and loved it). But it came back after the Jurassic Park movie was done, so I jumped on the chance to take them and it was well worth it. My younger son

People forget that the force of an impact increases with the square of an increase in speed. Modern cars can survive a lot of accidents but when you’re going well above the speed limit the forces involved are well beyond what you can practically design a car to survive.

That reminds me of the statistic that 88% of american drivers consider themselves to be an above average driver.

if you were to post this on Jalopnik you’d be shouted down by an angry mob of idiots who insist that speed is not related to traffic accidents as long as you are a skilled driver (coincidentally everyone at Jalopnik is evidently a hidden F1 driver).

God damnit Honda! Bring this here and take my money!

Well the way I worded it, it would be “increasingly”, because I’m referring to the fact that there is currently little need to put a V8 engine in a passenger car, and that I expect that trend to increase. But I will agree that it is a bit awkwardly worded.

I don’t think it’s just you; I drive small cars and even I can appreciate the sound of a V8. I believe I read somewhere that (depending on the angle of the cylinders and how the exhaust headers are routed) the individual exhaust pulses from the eight cylinders combine to create an aesthetically pleasing exhaust note,

A V8 the size of a V6 would have all the complexity and most of the cost of a full sized V8. It would be lighter and therefore more efficient than the full sized V8 but the smaller combustion chambers wouldn’t be quite as efficient as those in a V6. It would be an improvement on the full sized V8 but not competitive

I would go with the CRX, a small car would require smaller batteries and charging away from home would become more practical. The sticker price for a compact car would be more accessible than EVs on the market today, so it could expand the EV market to younger people living in the city, as opposed to those living in

My friend’s kids housesat for us while we went on vacation last year and when we got back they had logged into peacock on our amazon fire. So far we have watched a bunch of old episodes of SNL and nothing else.

It does apply to everyone and every generation, to varying extents. I’d be lying if I said I didn’t favor things that benefit myself and my family directly. It’s not the only thing I care about though, which is the important thing. Every one of us needs to be responsible for find that balance; take care of your

Holding volume down for a moment after the slider gets to the bottom will put every android phone I’ve owned into silent. holding down volume for a few seconds will do the trick regardless of where your volume is at presently so it can be done by touch alone.

To be fair that statement applies to every one, regardless of their generation.

You can’t possibly be serious about the first question, can you? Gender identity and sexual orientation are two different things. It only makes sense to think of them as closely related from a very narrow hetero perspective. I doubt many trans people are primarily concerned with when they can consider themselves “strai

I remember at one point the commenter community was so strong that two commenters actually got married IRL. There were comments and discussions that absolutely helped me learn about pop culture on a deeper level than I would have otherwise. For a little while it was how we thought the internet was going to become back
