I started reading the AVClub in print as well... back then it was the just the pretentious movie reviews in the back half of The Onion. As I broadened my horizons and learned more about pop culture / art in general I realized it wasn’t pretentious at all. It’s too bad they weren’t able to pull off a transition to

THIS is the problem. It has nothing to do with the relative quality of blockbusters vs. capital “C” Cinema... The two (along with plenty of other genres as well) co-existed for decades and now they largely don’t.

From what I’ve read in previous articles it sounds like this was definitely a big part of the problem. The car would be entered into the lost vehicle database when it wasn’t recorded as returned properly, but in the system where they track the rentals at the various rental lots it would still be active and able to be

I hope you take them to the cleaners!

My son and I were debating whether the “fake” bar was also the set for the “real” bar. You really can’t spot any differences between the two in the show so my guess is that they are one and the same (the exterior shots could be real and they built the set to match a real bar or they just CGI’d everything around the

If she’s on a self improvement journey, hopefully that was something she addressed as well.

The bar is so low these days... slacks and a polo would have been perfectly fine.

I put more effort into dressing for work from home zoom meetings during the pandemic than this guy, WTF!

From the beginning he’s been ambitious and willing to risk making an ass out of himself for the right opportunity. Sure, he’s a bumbling idiot but so is everyone else on the show; they’re just better at hiding it.

Exactly that happened to my family on two rides today. One only stopped for maybe 30 seconds and was almost seamless.

That’s bullshit, he could have walked her right the fuck out of the shoot and not returned. Yeah that’s an extreme step and It would likely have ended her career. But her father didn't even give his scared child the option.

they don’t, the court case they lost was about the amount of the damages from the arbitration between the ex couple. It doesn’t mean that Geico has to cover it.

I don’t think that will happen here. someone else explained it better in another comment but the thing that Geico lost here was an attempt to lower the amount of the damages from the arbitration (which did not involve Geico). there will be another legal proceeding where Geico will argue that they aren’t liable for it

And building a substantial portion of the structure underwater. They have flood control doors so they got that part right but I would maybe leave the windows out of the underwater levels. Unless you’re also charging admission to school groups and calling it an aquarium...

Why not interrogate Leia on the off chance that she overheard valuable information? If you’re going to be scaring her and torturing her to lure Obi-Wan in your might as well try to get some information out of her while you’re at it.

Panasonic is probably better off just making the batteries. They can focus on being the absolute best battery manufacturer without all the headaches that come with designing and building entire cars. And since the battery makes up a sizeable portion of an electric cars cost they essentially already have a decent share

The Ryobi suggestion is probably not entirely serious and there are probably good reasons why couldn’t just run a car off of a bunch of drill batteries (I‘m sure the packaging would be less efficient, for example). But that said, if they somehow made a car powered by hot swappable Ryobi batteries there would be a line

We should really consider bringing back "phrasing" though...

Deleted because everyone else already jumped all over you about this comment

The only negative thing about this is it’s not going to be in theaters; My first date with my Wife was Beavis and Butthead do America so this would be the perfect date movie for us.
