They do sound goofy, but if that’s what ends up being commonly used we’ll all get used to it and they won’t sound goofy anymore. there’s all sorts of weird shit in the English language already, like how “ph” is pronounced like an f.

My point is the same whether we’re talking about using They/them or neopronouns, using either one is easy, and there’s no downside.

ok, then I think it would be easier to use the neopronouns. Personally I think the ones with an X sound goofy but it’s not up to me; languages change over time and my personal opinion doesn’t really matter in that regard. I’ll use whatever most people end up using. and if that means stuff like Xe, Xir, etc. I’ll get

I think it would be easier to just say *they” than it would be to write all that. But I guess we all gotta pick a hill to die on, at least you're not a flat-earther.

Damn you really don’t get it, do you? Why does a pronoun need to have anything to do with “external gender expression”? How exactly does this lack of connection make the pronoun a nickname when it would still be used grammatically as a pronoun and not as a noun? Do you not understand that there are pronouns that are

Hertz used to be so good, I would always look to rent from them first because their customer service was so great. You could walk right up to your car, get in and all you have to do is drive through the gate to check out. No hassles, no upselling, nothing. I LOVED renting from Hertz. I even had a “Gold Member” account

I went on a road trip a couple of weeks ago and the offline map for a good chunk of southern Colorado only took up a couple gigs. And it deletes in a certain time frame automatically so it’s not like it will be taking up space in the long term.

If you’re driving somewhere that rural just download an offline map and you’ll be fine. There really aren’t many cell dead zones these days and if you’re driving that far from cities and major highways you really should take the time to either download a map or buy a physical map.

I work in accounts receivable, and let me tell you, AP really is my nemesis. It’s not really their fault, because AP is nothing but a cost to any corporation so they’re typically ridiculously understaffed, but there’s always some sort of dumbass excuse with these people.

What is up with the tailight extending out to the rear fender? Obviously it’s not a photo and presumably it’s not supposed to actually be like that, but how exactly did the intern who cobbled this crap together screw that up so bad? Did they literally cut and paste a red rectangle too far to the left and then called

Sure, if you want to assume that everyone else who has placed a bid has integrity. I’d rather assume someone may be shilling as a reminder not to bid more than I originally want to bid.

I don’t make shill bids, because it’s dishonest. My point is that I assume others do.

Why would people NOT place shill bids? Honestly aside, it’s a low-risk, high-reward move. unless you get caught of course, but most people figure they won’t get caught.

It’s funny how some people are claiming that it’s racist to make it about race, and some people are saying it’s racist to ignore any racial angles... Why can people not understand that it’s possible for something to not be primarily “about” race, but it can still intersect with various racial issues?

There are some ways in which this intersects with racial issues and stereotypes, but a simple anti-violence stand is not one of them. It’s not OK to walk up to people and slap them over a joke, period.

Imagine being a conference among your peers and smacking someone in front of everybody, for any reason other than self defense, then later trying to explain it as taking your job too seriously. I can’t speak for anyone else, but I’m pretty sure I’d be fired on the spot.

I went back and looked at those and I do see what you mean there, especially the tollbooth scene looking like day for night shooting (a personal pet peeve of mine because it’s almost always so distracting). It seems like there could have been a better compromise where they could have darkened it a bit and lost some of

I think this might be a little more true to how it was originally shot though. The problem is, it was shot so damn dark, which doesn’t work so well when you’re watching it at home. On VHS it was borderline unwatchable. They pushed the brightness on the DVD and then pushed it further on the Blu-ray, but the Blu-Ray has

Every time she’s on screen with Andy Garcia you can feel the sexual / romantic energy leave the room... I’ll never eat gnocchi again.

We can agree to disagree here, because you make a valid point about what’s off screen being scarier. but personally, I loved the new effects. There’s a tricky line between cleaning up crappy effects that were limited by the technology of the time and making entirely new effects / editorial changes. In my opinion they
