Every time this discussion happens, the superb WaPo article is mentioned, and like clockwork there is a subset of commenters who think their brains are just simply wired better that the rest of us.

The commenters here who think a parent who has had their child die tragically somehow needs to be held more accountable baffle me. I can think of no worse thing than losing my child. People have no empathy anymore.

This, I believe, is every parent’s secret nightmare.

Death penalty isn’t even the most glaring hypocrisy. That award goes to: infant mortality. Alabama and other radical right states have some of the worst outcomes in the country. They literally don’t care about dead babies, they just want bitches to suffer.
