I feel like you’re selling Jim Cooke a little short

Well, Anthony Anderson was charged with rape.....so maybe not the best example to use.

The “highlight/stats truther” comment phenomenon needs a name, like Goodwin’s law.

You forgot to add Gilbert Gottfried

Of course. Just as you can support the second amendment and be against gun violence.

What’s strange is how the female rape fantasy has remained largely underground, even though it’s a fairly standard daydream

It’s the hold music, I swear.

The premise is a zombie apocalypse, but the show is about civilization versus nature, and the struggle to retain humanity in the face of nihilistic brutal fight to survive.

1. Using rape as a plot device is not lazy if you’ve created a character arc that involves rape. Then, it’s just honest. Ramsey is a rapist. We know that. So why is it shocking or lazy to have a rapist raping?

In the show, Ramsey had, seemingly, convinced Little Finger he was harmless. While we know him to be a monster, the idea that he would be turning over a new leaf, or at least acting differently towards the Stark to whom he’s getting married to isn’t that crazy of a notion.

Lol. No, it’s juvenile to voice opinions about a book/show when you clearly haven’t read/watched it.

But....this scene was actually toned down from what happens in the books.

Why does every plot device have to accomplish something? This was the logical course of events based on the characters that had been crafted. To avoid it would have been a cop out.

Would you also like equal voting rights and democracy? C’mon, dude.

It probably seems like “not an episode goes by without a graphic rape, implied rape, voyeuristic rape, etc.” because YOU ADMITTEDLY HAVEN’T WATCHED THE SHOW!

Except that, in the context of the society in GOT, rape is normalized. It’s a common occurrence, and even expected in many situations.

I’m glad someone actually caught something during that game

“I’m about to take the air out of your sails, buddy”
