According to the Guardian, three days before Messi cited gastroenteritis as his reason for not being at an event, Xavi mentioned in an interview that gastroenteritis was often used as a cover excuse. http://www.theguardian.com/football/blog/…

I'd be interested to know from any New Yorkers, is there anything negative with this slowdown or is it basically just having a positive / no effect on the city?

I don't think in this case, for example its a 'no one gets 100%' thing. Its more knowing they will get the votes, and so trying to give votes to guys you think deserve it but might not get the votes they need.

And sadly rappers/hip hop artists are forced to do this now. A song with Katy perry subsidizes a couple mixtapes.

Cocaine is a hell of a drug!

Then again, only dicks rope off their own car.

What are jokes anyway????

Yes, I was going to link this myself. Garcia may not be the crusading angel he now wants to appear to be. There is pretty much no information about what his report actually contains. Bear in mind this guy has written reports for FIFA previously, they were apparently not disappointed with his work.

Maybe he could get a job letting Justin Bieber beat him at Basketball?

An interesting example from the UK a few years back in Premiership Football (not exactly known for great sportsmanship) Where the player caught the ball rather than score a simple goal when he saw the goalkeeper appeared to have a head injury, in order to stop the game and get him treatment. There have been (a few)

Well sure, but there are plenty of arguments to be had about, say who is the greatest football (soccer) player of all time without a Hall of Fame, it just kinda seems strange that on one hand people will say "Man these journalists who choose entrants to the HoF are so dumb, the HoF is a joke" and then say "I can't

Most of these don't have hands, your list is invalid!

I was watching SNF in the UK this week when Phil Simms pointed to a tackle and said something like "The tackler did a good job there of putting his head in front of the runner" I was amazed, in rugby that would be considered bad technique because you're guaranteed to get smashed in the head, leading to higher risk of

I dunno, I think the comments are legit, I mean they say in the video, "Does any of this make you feel uncomfortable?" Well no it doesn't and that's the point. I mean I would go to that party, its kinda funny, as making fun of powerful groups often is. Although I dunno maybe I'm just not the target audience and people

Yeah, I mean I guess some people would get offended, but I doubt most would care, and that's kind of the point, you don't have to care about other people belittling your 'culture' because its clearly the dominant one, I mean look even the stereotypes are weak, Oh no we don't dance well, I'm so sad. It's like the Louie

It shouldn't, although for people who would deny White Privilege exists it probably does. But ultimately, it's twitter which is all to often an exercise in narcissism and hashtags quickly turn from being about the cause to being about the tweeter once they get any kind of traction.

Well my initial point was that the Hall of Fame is a completely arbitrary system anyway, a few reporters vote on who they believe should be considered the best. They can vote how they want, that's the system. I don't understand why people care, accept that its meaningless, being in the HoF or not changes nothing about
