Same! I thought the sauce was a bit cloying and not quite as savoury as I would have liked. This is the first one of her recipes that I’ve tried. I haven’t tried the stew because I don’t really eat meat. I’m going to pick 2 more and make my mind up!

Exactly. I have worked in hedge funds and this is par for the course. 

This situation has actually had the opposite effect on me: after spending most of my youth focused on having fun, traveling and my career, I feel the need to focus on other things, and having a baby is top of the list. The rest seems so trivial now. All of this comes with huge helpings of guilt about all my privilege.

I eat meat and fish but ONLY ever sustainable and grass-fed from high-quality purveyors. I also eat game and less glamorous, in season seafood, which is much more sustainable. I do eat a lot less of it though - that is how I balance ethics and financials. 

I hated those polystyrene cups - they ALWAYS scalded your hand and then the tea or coffee got cold really quickly.
