Same HERE! I reconnected with an ex (and no, it was BEFORE the lockdown) and we are talking but not at the point in which there had been any action. My vibrator is hoping to be furloughed.

You say it like it is a bad thing!
I have stopped drinking a few weeks ago for exactly this reason: my drinking was already a bit borderline before, and I was just self-medicating / trying to pass time. I have completely cut myself off (easy to do when you just don’t have any in the house and you are not going anywhere) and I do feel better.
BY COLOUR! This alone is a case for the rise of Kindle.
This is so offensive to me! I am DROWNING in books (I read them - some of them are for my work) and am trying to find solutions beyond piles everywhere or a custom bookcase that I cannot afford at the moment.
That essay felt really real - I have no vested interest in this fight. I’d love to see Joan flourish into the amazing writer she can be.
How unsympathetic and shallow.
Come on, that is a bit mean! Joan is very young and just learning. I actually love the longform stuff she wrote. I think she needs to figure out what kind of writer she is!
Sorry to hear, don’t be so hard on yourself! Keeping your weight in check takes a routine and concentration, things that are in very short supply for all right now! I am losing weight because my appetite has completely gone, but I am more than making up for it by drinking ALL THE WINE, which is VERY bad for me..:(
That is kind of you: I have worked out that I do not really spend much when self-isolating, and that I want and can spend more. I have set myself a minimum spend (HA!) budget, which I do not want to give to Amazon or Deliveroo or big supermarkets. I am happy to pay more for stuff if it means that my local shops and…
Sorry about your anniversary trip!
I normally cook A LOT: I really like it, it relaxes me, I love cooking for friends and family, and just generally love good food. I have realised today that I have not cooked once in 5 days. I have completely lost my appetite with the current situation, am eating only once a day and it is mostly salads or takeouts as…
This is spot on! You are gravely forgetting to mention the one American show that marries a few of these stereotypes though, my mindless favourite: MURDER SHE WROTE! Dun dun dun dun dun, dun dun dun, dun duuuuu
My old job instated a GREAT RULE. Anything that was left in the fridge at the end of the day on Friday was going in the bin, tupperware and all.
My old boss used to do this. He’d saunter towards the gents 2 hours after lunch every day with a rolled up newspaper and a wireless headset he was chirpily chatting into.
Same: I don’t wear shoes indoors but don’t mind if my guests do. Many of my friends know by now though and immediately remove their shoes upon entering.
I don’t agree at all: attending a big formal wedding is expensive. I find it a bit disrespectful when there is a cash a bar and poor quality booze and food.
She is saying he can’t BRAND IT, which I very much agree with. I am British. I am delighted for H&M to have quit their job and have moved on, but I frown at them using it to market themselves and make even more money. They can do it the old-fashioned way, through TV and press appearances and other publicity deals.
I order pizza for myself about once per month but when I do I order enough for two meals (hot and cold the next day), and buy the premium stuff and craft beer. It is about $50 a pop and I have NO REGRETS
It is tough for Botox and fillers to make you look younger, they mostly just make you look uncanny; honestly, I’d just spend the money on babysitters so you can sleep and on regular facials.
