You don’t support the devs of an AAA  game by buying a copy- those people are salaried workers who already got paid and many of them will already be laid off by the time the game ships.  The people who benefit from “buying a game versus not” are the executives and the publisher.

Harry Potter is ultimately the Chik-fil-A of the fantasy space now- some people have fond memories of it, it’s ultimately not very good, and the people who profit from it use that money to push a hateful agenda.

Honestly, “white meat chicken” was the thing I think fake meat has been good enough imitating since like the 90s.  Cauliflower doesn’t really need to pose as other things to be delicious, and the reasons I will never eat a CFA sandwich again are unrelated to all of these things.

I know it’s just about the size of the companies, but it’s weird to me that people are making such a weird deal about Microsoft buying Activision (a company that has published 2 games i have purchased or played in the last 13 years) and there was nothing about Microsoft buying Zenimax (a company that published 10+

I mean, it really feels like the reason they haven’t even considered cancelling the Flash movie, despite Ezra Miller’s reign of terror, is that the Flash is the character who can (when the story needs it) travel through time via the Speed Force. “I traveled through time and changed the past and now the future is

Honestly, any Dragon Age game is going to work (or not) for me on the basis of “everything except the combat.” They could make it a rhythm game or a visual novel or a match 3 game and it would be about the same as far as I’m concerned.

He’s not rolling, baby, rolling in the green but he is unique.

No, they’re terrible. A Crumbl cookie is further from “what I want a cookie to be” than a McDonalds hamburger is from “what I want a hamburger to be.”

So can I be a rebel if I just consume the original orange, yellow, and white candy corn around non-autumn holidays?

I mean, Charlie Day’s Luigi voice is probably just Charlie Day, since “Charlie Day easily naturally anxious, agitated, and barely holding it together” also sums up Luigi pretty well. So it’s possible someone just figured Donkey Kong should sound like Seth Rogen.

I half suspect that the main reason right wingers lose their minds over the M&Ms characters is that the spokescandies subtly underline how gender is distinct from biology. Since Yellow is identifiably “masculine” and Green is identifably “feminine” but they obviously possess no biology whatsoever because they are made

I really don’t get the appeal of large cookies that taste unbaked in the middle.  This is an off-putting texture!  It speaks to incorrectly sizing your cookie, since ideally you are set-to-crisp on the edges with some slight chew in the middle.  I sort of suspect that people who sell “too big and too soft” cookies are

I mean, the way to handle this from a design perspective is not “morality meters” but “there are social consequences for people observing you doing bad things.”   You could do anything from a GTA style star system to a New Vegas style faction rep and it would be better than “nothing.”

It just feels wrong to pair vodka with pineapple when rum exists.

I would encourage people to not buy flavored spirits, since while (for example) “mango and tequila” is a good flavor combination, you will get better results combining actual mango with a tequila you already know you like. Generally “flavored spirits” are a way for distillers to sell a lower quality product at a

Once again industries sort of fail to understand that the fundamental issue is that everybody wants to enjoy something special from time to time, but younger people were born into an economic system really stacked against them so they’re only going to do the stuff they can actually afford to do.  Whereas our parents

The secret is that every champagne cocktail is kind of good, and also something you’re not really inclined to produce at home since once you crack the bottle you have to finish it. Like there’s a reason that mimosas at brunch are a thing at restaurants (which will go through several bottles depending on the crowd) and

The thing about icon chasing in a great big sandbox is that this is a great thing to have when it’s what you want, but moods are not entirely predictable so it contributes more to “buying the Assassin’s Creed game on sale for when you want that in your life” than “being hyped to pay full price”.

Digitial menu boards are an innovation?  I think Arby’s has had them for 10 years and my local tacqueria has had them for 4-5.

I’m going to miss being able to blacken chile skins by throwing them directly on the flame.
