This is all very promising and not especially far from what I would have pitched if I got put in charge of the DCU.  I would want that “Ralph and Sue Dibny are sleuths” show but I understand that one might have to wait.

So can I be a rebel if I just consume the original orange, yellow, and white candy corn around non-autumn holidays?

I mean, it’s eminently reasonable for the entity responsible for overseeing 1.7 million acres to have more than 4 employees.

I mean, Charlie Day’s Luigi voice is probably just Charlie Day, since “Charlie Day easily naturally anxious, agitated, and barely holding it together” also sums up Luigi pretty well. So it’s possible someone just figured Donkey Kong should sound like Seth Rogen.

I don’t necessarily disagree with “putting Cyborg on the Justice League” since there absolutely should be more people with melanin in the group just from an optics perspective, and he might be top of the heap for “black superheroes at DC.”

I mean the fundamental difference is that the OGL will continue to be managed by WotC a subsidiary of Hasbro a big company that’s going to do what it feels is in its best interest. The ORC is intended to be managed by an independent entity (they cite the Linux Foundation as an example) so it will never make decisions

I mean there’s probably more creative room for “things the Titans need to work together to beat” than “things the Justice League needs to work together to beat” since that second class is much smaller.

I half suspect that the main reason right wingers lose their minds over the M&Ms characters is that the spokescandies subtly underline how gender is distinct from biology. Since Yellow is identifiably “masculine” and Green is identifably “feminine” but they obviously possess no biology whatsoever because they are made

I really don’t get the appeal of large cookies that taste unbaked in the middle.  This is an off-putting texture!  It speaks to incorrectly sizing your cookie, since ideally you are set-to-crisp on the edges with some slight chew in the middle.  I sort of suspect that people who sell “too big and too soft” cookies are

I have to imagine Hasbro’s partners in the D&D movie that comes out in March made it very clear how much they disagreed with Hasbro’s decision to alienate their entire fanbase right before the movie comes out.

This is really a thing they should have done 15 years ago. “Make your uppercase i and lowercase L look different”is just one of those rules of UX design.

I’m pretty sure that Dorsey was in favor of Elon Musk paying significantly more than that Twitter was worth for the company, because he would receive a significant portion of that bag. Now that this is over with, he can (and probably should) wash his hands of the place.

I mean, the way to handle this from a design perspective is not “morality meters” but “there are social consequences for people observing you doing bad things.”   You could do anything from a GTA style star system to a New Vegas style faction rep and it would be better than “nothing.”

It just feels wrong to pair vodka with pineapple when rum exists.

I would encourage people to not buy flavored spirits, since while (for example) “mango and tequila” is a good flavor combination, you will get better results combining actual mango with a tequila you already know you like. Generally “flavored spirits” are a way for distillers to sell a lower quality product at a

Once again industries sort of fail to understand that the fundamental issue is that everybody wants to enjoy something special from time to time, but younger people were born into an economic system really stacked against them so they’re only going to do the stuff they can actually afford to do.  Whereas our parents

The secret is that every champagne cocktail is kind of good, and also something you’re not really inclined to produce at home since once you crack the bottle you have to finish it. Like there’s a reason that mimosas at brunch are a thing at restaurants (which will go through several bottles depending on the crowd) and

Honestly, I’d prefer to be vaporized in the case of nuclear war.

Yeah, turning D&D (or any TTRPG) into a live services thing just seems wrong and scary to me. Like I want to be able to pull Castle Falkenstein off my shelf and run a game in that system, I don’t want to be have to maintain a subscription to do so.

It’s not incorrect that you can actually save money by not releasing the thing you already paid to make, it’s just wrong. One hopes that the tax code and the various Hollywood unions can correct this in the future.
