1) The value of all cryptos is as “speculative assets”- their worth at some point in the future is a function of “more people want them in the future than want them now”. So no one who isn’t paid by the cyrpto industry should do their recruiting for them.
I was this many years old before I learned Nesquick was a powder and not a syrup. I had just imagined it was like Hershey’s syrup until reading this post.
It seems obvious that the reason the situations is clear as mud is because whatever happens is going to require some level of negotiation (or breakdown in negotiation) between the tech giants, and if MS were to beat their chest about “CoD- only on Xbox” or something that might endanger the acquisition.
Microsoft wants Activision’s incredibly popular and well-selling games, and sees an opportunity with a depressed stock price and a scandal besieged company.
I wonder what makes MS more money:
This seems to be a “Microsoft is cashing in because ActiBliz’s stock price took a severe dip because of all of the scandals, and Bobby Kotick engineering as graceful (and profitable) an exit as possible for a CEO capable of that level of mismanagement.
While the Supreme Court is an illegitimate and immoral institution as it is currently constituted, it’s much more likely that they will rule that “actually it’s fine for Disney executives to hunt and kill the homeless for sport” than it is for them to rule that I own Donald Duck because I bought a comic book. It’s…
I guess it’s unsurprising that the people who think owning a receipt for a link to a picture is the same as owning that picture, confuse “owning a copy of a book” with “owning the rights to the content of the book.”
I have eaten a great number of different meat-replacement nuggets in my life, and the interior is always pretty fine. The make or break for the various veggie nuggets has always been “the breading/exterior” since mostly these things get taken home from the freezer aisle and cooked at home and you’re probably not…
I’ve never bought butter or a butter-like substance that came in a tub, just quarters or whole pounds. I used to reuse old containers for storing stuff in, but the constantly battle of “where’s the lid” lead me to spend a small amount of money on decent reusable containers (I got a set of Lock & Locks on Woot) and…
I’m 3.6 miles away from a Taco Bell. I am absolutely not going to go there every day (if I don’t have to go anywhere, these days, I don’t.)
I like to let the bananas go until they’re almost all black, then microwave them to get them to give up their liquid, strain it and reduce it for maximum banana flavor.
The thing about “this fantasy creature is based on negative stereotypes of a real world kind of person” is that the 100% effective defense against that claim is to let those real world people see themselves in your fantasy world as a person rather than as some kind of fantasy creature.
Booze privileges on a plane should be a thing you have to apply for, like the TSA PreCheck thing, and if you slip up then you have your privileges revoked.
But I like the taste of Diet Coke better than that of Coke Zero.
The first time I played Mass Effect 2, shortly after its release, I had everybody survive the suicide mission just through this simple flowchart:
Being a ponzi scheme, NFTs rely on “convincing more and more people that a database entry is worth money” but the NFT advocates seem completely incapable of doing so beyond “this ape jpeg might be worth a lot of money in the future” (a thing that also describes certain Pokemon cards, which are more fun than jpegs).
Didn’t Molyneux literally make the prize for one of his games “you can make money off the next game if you win this one” and that didn’t happen at all?
I sort of get how they got their Michelin star. A lot of art is pretentious, and if you’re not compatible for whatever reason with what it is and what it’s trying to do, then you’re going to have a bad time. If you happen to be harmonizing with the art though, it can be a fantastic experience.
