I initially read this as most ironic foods of every state, which would be a much more interesting list.

If the soup were contained in little containers (like the ones you use in the Bank drive-thru, but soup-proof) you could send all sorts of things via the soup tubes.

Are we going to do Trick-or-Treating in this plague year? I’m not sure opening my door to a bunch of strangers is the best idea in “these uncertain times”.

Will CEO (Community Effort Orlando) supplant Evo as the top FGC event going forward?  I get that CEO has an SEO problem, but maybe Alex Jebailey isn’t a creep and that would be an improvement.

Man, remember when Fallout was a blisteringly dark satire of unchecked capitalism and how this combined with America’s fondness for believing it’s own bullshit lead to ruin?

At most Tex-Mex restaurants most everything except the fajitas just come drowned in shredded cheese. Why did this woman not just order basically anything else?

Like I get the appeal of watching someone else play a video game in case either a) they are incredibly good at it (like the Street Fighter finals at Evo), or b) you are not sure whether or not the game appeals to you, so this is a cheap way to find out.

A new console that has a disc drive and just doesn’t do 4k and HDR (but plays all the current generation stuff) for $300 at launch is pretty appealing, I have to say.

One of the most exhausting things in video game culture these days (in addition to all the bad stuff that is not new) is just “keeping track of who all these inexplicably famous twitch people are”.

I look forward to our “post-Covid era” in which the surviving “masks are tyranny” people attempt to get service with neither shirts nor shoes.

Last gen didn’t we used to have a bunch of like 10-20 hour games that told their story and then were over? Like Bioshock, Uncharted 2, Portal 2, Dishonored, Arkhan Asylum. Not only were those games well received, they were some of the best received games of the whole 7th generation.

It’s kind of funny that it’s taking WotC this long to do this, since there have been other people (even in the d20 fantasy space) running away from the “some species are just inherently evil and evoke IRL stereotypes” thing since the dawn of the OGL if not earlier.

I mean, he’s written some of my favorite games of all time, but this does explain a lot about what’s happened with him professionally recently. Obsidian wanted him out not because he’s not talented, but because he makes it harder for everybody else to do their jobs and no “genius” is worth that. Of late he’s been kind

It seems like it would be easy for sites that take user reviews to simply not allow them to be submitted before a certain period of time passes (like a week) after release.

I’m just fundamentally uninterested in games that set out to make me feel bad. I’m not against “Feel bad” art, but games have a level of interactivity that makes it feel worse than movies, or books, etc. So while this game might 100% accomplish what it set out to do, none of it is anything I want any part of.

It is remarkable the extent to which Americans are not willing to make sacrifices for the common good.  During, for example, WWII people put up with rationing and other restrictions for four or more years. These days, you ask people to stay home and enjoy their Netflix subscription and they lose their GD minds in 3

If you want to make really good waffles, the batter needs to be significantly lighter than pancake batter. I usually do yeasted waffles or use whipped egg whites and seltzer to give additional lift.

Maple syrup is kind of spendy, but if you’re in a pinch agave is fairly inexpensive and a better choice on pancakes that dyed corn syrup.

Come to think of it, I do kind of want a hotdog.  What’s a good supermarket hot dog?

What even is the gimmick for Ruby Tuesday that differentiates it from all the other middlebrow chains?  Like Chili’s is vaguely Southwestern, Bennigan’s is parody-Irish, the Olive Garden is Italianish, etc.  So what’s the hook for Ruby Tuesday?
