I'm surprised you left "GamerGate" off the "biggest disappointments list. I know I've never found anything more disappointing in the entire history of video games than that particular tantrum/hate mob.

The "Deluxe Upgrade" includes the soundtrack, which comes in uncompressed .wav files that you can convert to your format of choice. It costs $9.99
At the same time though, good RPG characters will take certain aspects of yourself and emphasize them, and certain aspects of yourself and invert them. The character in a pen and paper roleplaying game is interesting to play in the context of what sort of person you are. Things like "this character feels similarly…
They're extremely powerful, and can lose control of their power and become very dangerous. It all ties back to the connection mages have with the fade.
Whether these changes are temporary experiments or the result of a shift in Ubisoft's long-term goals for the series, the end result is a problem: Assassin's Creed: Unity just isn't very fun.
I ate the Cappucino lays on your recommendation Mr. Fahey, and I must admit that I now have an immediate answer for "what is the worst potato chip you have ever eaten." That is the sum total of value I derived from that bag, still 3/4 full after all these months (I occasionally foist a cappuccino chip off on guests a…
Gamergate represents everything I've always found loathsome about gaming and the culture around it: Petty tribalism. consumer entitlement, unwillingness to engage in deep criticism, the pretense that game quality can be somehow objective, and antipathy towards outsiders.
I have always enjoyed games and video games, I have never thought of myself as a "Gamer" and I always thought it was weird that other people did. People don't identify themselves with labels from their fondness for books, movies, television, or music, so why should they with games? Indeed, one of the reasons…
And even the Vault 13 canteen really wasn't worth getting up in arms about, considering that it was only +15 HP and -25 H2O (in hardcore only) every five minutes in game (during which you would ordinarily accumulate at least 300 dehydration) which is a really minimal bonus in a single player game with no competitive…
Does Planescape: Torment (91 metacritic) not count because it's part of the vast and amorphous "Dungeons and Dragons" IP? Since I think it ought to count.
Well, Fallout 3 had Three Dog constantly talking about how good/evil/neutral you were in the radio updates, plus all those karma achievements (nine of them) so the developers clearly wanted you to pay attention to your Karma.
Well FO:NV was basically "as much stuff from Van Buren as we can implement in this engine, in time, and under budget." So it's the closest thing to a worthy sequel to Fallout 2 we've gotten to date.
Do "legitimate sports" actually bar women from competition with the men by rule? I have a copy of the NFL rulebook, and I've been scanning it and there doesn't seem to be any rule prohibiting women from participating in the National Football League.
EA does some bad, stupid stuff but they still do more good than bad, and them "going under" would be a very bad thing.
Bioware is my favorite developer, and this is my favorite Bioware game, and I started playing those with the first Baldur's Gate (have only missed MDK2, Sonic Chronicles, SW:toR, and Shattered Steel). It's also my second favorite RPG of the 7th generation (behind FO:NV, which may itself be a controversial choice of a…
I'm pretty sure the reason for "no actual arrows" in the bow is that if you fire an arrow, it's going to go somewhere. If it doesn't go where you want it to go for whatever reason, then you have to edit it out of the shot, which is extra work.
If the entire Assassin's Creed line were united through the male line, rather than just "genetics" then why is Desmond's last name "Miles" and not "Auditore"?
Isn't the point of E3 these days mostly:
Yeah, if there were the possibility for a PC version, I would totally have backed this one, but there isn't (Sony owns the IP, IIRC) so I won't be.
Well, I mean, I game on a PC. I'd just rather play games on my monitor (it's a very nice monitor) than shell out $100+ for a goofy headset to play games on. I may be an outlier here, but I just don't see the appeal. I'm the sort of person who suffers from simulation sickness as it is, so I tend to avoid first…
