Equine therapy is an established form of trauma & addiction treatment and offered at numerous rehabs. The headline and article are misleading.

The DSM is always changing. It took them quite a while to recognize PTSD, which is now something no one would really challenge as a valid mental health issue deserving of serious professional intervention. It is very possible the same will happen with sex addiction.

Hi everyone. I have been to a rehab that treats sex addiction, and I identify as having impulse control issues in this area. Impulse control is a complex issue & is diagnosable per the DSM. The help I got was profound and changed the entire course of my life - it was a combination of 12 step work & trauma work.
