This just looks nice. I could go for a nice uplifting story since the world is on fire right now.

Not to mention that “choice” means just that. You can’t want choice for women then be upset when they make a selection you disagree with. Plenty of women choose to give birth and allow a family who can’t conceive to adopt their children.

I mean, isn’t one of the “choices” to NOT have an abortion? The idea is that everyone should be free to make that choice, not that everyone must be required to be in favor of abortions.

I think the movie does a good job showing how vulnerable you are being young and pregnant. Juno is taken advantage of and influenced by a lot of other peoples expectations on her body. I didn’t find it anti-choice, instead I think it did a good job of showing what a traumatic experience it is having so many others

Anyone remember when the AV Club was all-Chicago, all the time?

i mean i know ratings data is weird these days but i do think it’s a huge hit.

this rules! matheson is an old friend and i was so happy to see this is a hit. can’t wait to see what happens next.

This is gonna make a fucking FORTUNE.

I’ll take two, please.

First of all ... Julia Roberts!

not accusing you of this, but it’s weird when people think because he didn’t legally adopt her that it somehow alleviates the creep factor. He still knew her since she was a child and played some level of guardianship in her life through her high school years.

Portman isn’t an awful actor though, she’s a good one. It depends on the material she has which does mean she isn’t a great actor. Great actors can take the worst stuff and still deliver a good performance.

She was an exposition machine in the first movie and a plot device in the second. What was she supposed to do with that?

I’m not going to blame her for having the self-awareness that Marvel was writing its women terribly in the first phase and leaving.

always happy to find another person who didn’t like guardians 2. russos aside there’s also a bit of streak with directors who come back delivering a worse product (wildly agreed upon that iron man 2 is inferior, obviously mileage varies but i do not like gotg2 at all, i didn’t like far from home, and age of ultron

That’s my take, she’s generally as good as her material.

In fairness, including “he’s a friend from work” robbed the movie’s best joke of its impact in the theater. Maybe a learning moment for the studio?

Now will a full trailer I’m... a little less excited than I was with Ragnarok?

I’ll never understand why Chris Hemsworth is not the consensus #1 Chris in the battle of the Chrises. He’s up there in top tier with Jason Momoa and Forest Whitaker.

How is Gil Worthington not a bigger star? He was the best part of Wind River. He’s already my favorite character in this show. The man clearly has charisma but he’s never led a movie/series and that’s a damn shame.
