God I love this show. It’s not perfect but it’s just what I needed from the series, honestly.

Well sure it is boring to him, he knows everything that is going to happen!

Can we also finally admit that Kate McKinnon, although very talented, might be a tad overrated versus a criminally underrated and far more versatile Cecily Strong? Kate’s Fauci and Giuliani impressions sound exactly alike, with neither sounding anything remotely like the men she’s supposedly imitating. And on that

The law just prohibits talking about sexual identity to young children in general.”

And what does that mean, in practice?

Because I am 99% sure it does mean you can’t read a fairy tale to a classroom where a prince marries a princess.

I am also 99% sure it does mean that you can’t read a fairy tale to a classroom where

I’d have more sympathy for this point if the right hadn’t spent the last year complaining about non-existent CRT teaching in elementary and high schools.

Yep and Obamacare isn’t actually called Obamacare but I seem to be the only person in the world who calls it The ACA.

Get fucked

I loved that show and it sucks that it’s like nowhere to stream; made it hard to recommend it to friends.

I think it’s actually closer in tone/characters to Trial & Error which more people should watch if, ya know, it was streaming on fucking anything anywhere. Seriously why the fuck isn’t that show on Peacock by now, it drives me nuts.

I’m not disliking the format use here, but I do think some media taking on this format need a stronger in-universe reason for why they’re the subject of documentary. And there’s others like that Disney+ High School Musical show that acts like a mockumentary, but there aren’t actually cameras or crew following them at

I love this show. It is a little like The Office but in a good way.

this show is so damn good.

One of my favorite things ever is when Hader visited the studios where they produce Dateline and of course they surprised him with Keith Morrison, and Hader utterly fanboys out.

Hands down the best impression he’s ever done. Apparently Morrison loved it and made a point of telling Hader in person.

1) The COVID discussion sketch had a little too much of the semi-contrarian ‘everything we did in response to COVID was cringe and wrong, but it’s not woke to say it’ vibe that I’m seeing a lot lately on the Substack left and Trumpy right

An excellent final review. Thanks for all of them. This is depressing.

Best of luck with everything. Whether I agreed or disagreed with you I always looked forward to reading your reviews. I think there was one time, 5 or 6 years ago, when I mostly came here to just complain about Trump coverage on SNL and was a bit curt toward your review that you replied to one of my posts, which I

I have gotten back into Saturday Night Live, solely because of your careful curation. I spend Sunday mornings watching the sketches you recommend and skipping the rest. So I may just go back to my previous status of just thinking “Well, it’s all crap” and just avoid it all together without you to guide me. I’m sure

I enjoyed the reviews, so thanks. Sorry the AVClub shafted you. Good luck.

I genuinely think “Who asked for this?” is one of the worst modern day criticisms of media, and it’s everywhere. It’s an extremely thin criticism to begin with, but it’s also incredibly solipsistic.
