I was watching the Name of the Doctor again last night and when Clara tells the first Doctor to take the other Tardis instead she is most probably not human in that incarnation, maybe not a time lord but a Gallifreyan. Also, not as related but Clara as yet to meet with the Brigadier's daughter for the first time, that

Clare gives the toy soldier to the doctor at the end... a family heirloom and time travel runs in the family...

It seemed pretty obvious to me that he had good reasons not to give in at that moment.

The problem with that scene is a huge jump in psychological progression, probably caused by bad editing.

The rise of civilization is an ongoing process, as a specie we barely came down from trees. And there is still a very long road ahead until we are truly worthy of calling ourselves one. The whole sentient thing is kinda like Pandora's box opening itself. Who ever said it was supposed to be easy?

I say plumbing not a problem on the death star, because of the available vacuum, open the hatch and let space take care of it.

Maybe we are the planet full of war mongering psychos, we often imagine real powerful aliens, but what if we are the most terrifying thing around the block? Others might be inclined to take the long way around not to mess with us.

Time to stock black leather and muscle car parts.

So to be clear, a religious institution is forbidding to allow a woman to be naked out of doors to play a woman ordered to be naked out of doors by another a religious institution.

What the hell is George McFly doing there!?!

So sick of the words dark and gritty... what about torturous and sombre? Decayed and depressing? Grim and ravaged? Visceral and broken?

Hergé 1950

Literature and screenwriting are two very different form, one is about words the other is about action. A good script as to be almost transparent, very light on words. So filmmakers are left with lots of choices to make and they try to boil it down to the essence of what they like in the book they are adapting. And

You beat me to it.

I agree, Luke was basically just a good kid who wanted to escape the boredom of his life and do something that matters.

Am I the only one who remember that back in the days Lucas specifically said that anything outside the movies was not cannon?

I feel the same way about those stupid robes and the stuck up elitist attitude of the Jedis. It's like they wanted to please people into medieval fantasy. Star Wars is supposed to be like the seventies in space.

Nope it was Frailty and it was awesome.
