I suspect the movie will not fare well no matter how well it reviews. A parade of straight white guys will exclaim how this film bashes them or makes them feel awful, but the fact is that those guys also tend to sit right in the middle of the largest movie going demographic so if they don’t go then the film won’t do

Sniff, this brings back fond memories of my now departed grandmother sitting in her room 20 years ago playing Tetris on a Gameboy.

Good? Maybe not but I have had fun with some of his films, they are “safe” action films, where the audience knows exactly what they will be getting- explosions, people running toward the camera in slow motion, and dialogue that might be overheard on an elementary school playground. Predictable as they are I have found

Good and bad are subjective value judgements, not objective measures. Widely loved or despised does not mean objective. Which is not to say I think Bay’s movies are good but they can be fun oif  you want to turn your brain off for a couple hours and watch things explode.

This makes me wonder which of Vox’s platforms he supports? It's just interesting that he gave details for the the pronoun and identity issues but tip toed around the Vox part.

Than ever? Clickbait much? I’m willing to bet money the data on alcohol related deaths in the 18th, 19th, and early 20th centuries is not that great to non existent. Are the rates worse per capita? Were they worse post, pre, or during Prohibition?

The thing is some people don’t have a ton of choice, it’s the vicious thing about being poor. Amazon may not always have the best deals but often even with Prime it does. If someone lives in a rural area and it poor they may find a host options on Amazon for everyday items they beat driving 100 miles to buy item X.

Let’s not forget the samurai epic. The show has tons of Lone Wolf and Cub callbacks and this last episode follows many of the story beats of the Seven Samurai (save for the number of mercs) to a tee. The samurai and western genres have so much in common, there is a reason that the Magnificent Seven took the plot for

Not just North America but this also feels like the Scramble for Africa in the late 19th century as the powers of Europe all competed to establish colonies and get their slice of that “magnificent African Cake” as King Leopold, one of Africa’s most brutal colonizers put it.

The same could be said of Rifts, I love the setting but the system (which is the same as Robotech with a few tweaks) hurts my soul. Not to mention the fact that the owner of Palladium has long had a rotten reputation in the industry that was not helped by the mismanagement and failed delivery of the fully promised

The Kickstarter issue sucks as a boycott would proabaly hurt content creators more than the people that run kickstarter. Sure creators could use other platforms but as KS is the biggest player some projects might not get the funding they need due to lack of exposure. What we need is more media pressure on KS about

Sounds interesting but also scary. Given that police are not likely to vanish anytime soon, if all the decent officers and cops of color quit in frustration, we are really screwed.

I just don’t get this show. The male lead was a despicable bully whose teachers and the female lead empowered by allowing him to slide when he tormented others, it was so sickening I couldn’t keep watching after the first few episodes. Though I guess I have to admit that my near pathological hatred for bullies and

I am by all means a historian, who is currently in the early stages of research into a project on the historical influence of table top RPGs. In the right circles none of this is new. It’s just new to those who are now hearing about it because D&D is more popular than at any point in its history. Popular enough that

Not really. Yes, D&D’s recent uptick in popularity has played a role, but not in the way many people think. The complaints have been around for a very long time, most people are only hearing about them now because D&D is popular that fairly large sites like Kotaku are now writing these stories. There is a huge

It’s Abrams, the king of pre-film misdirection. My money is on it being a dream or vision.

Werner F’en Herzog!!! This just got way more interesting. And it was already massively interesting.

Anyone who thinks any major retailer is gonna watch out for the buyer has been living under a rock. If you don’t check stuff for yourself then I don’t know what to tell you. Yes, there are supposed to be safeguards and standards but at the same time there is a reason the saying Caveat Emptor has been around for over 50

I shudder to think how many great projects will sit on Disney’s shelves and never get made because between MCU films, Star War films, animated films, “live action” reboots, and Fox projects Disney’s schedule is so full. They can only release about 12 films, or so, a year otherwise they are competing with themselves.

Well at least no one will be writing an article like this about the main events of Frank Herbert’s Dune anytime soon. The real winner, however, is the Numenera table top RPG, set 1,000,000,000 years in the future. Its doubtful anything resembling humans will remain to comment, of such a niche product is even
