Real glad I watched a movie last night instead.
Real glad I watched a movie last night instead.
I was in college when Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction came out, and I liked them as much as anyone, but I pretty quickly soured on him. I think that parts of Inglorious Bastards are brilliant, but the rest of it (the Brad Pitt parts) are terrible and seem to belong to some other movie. It’s like he can’t just grow up…
The one that sticks out to me is Drew McIntyre, who (unless I’m misremembering the story) ended up being punished for something his then-wife did. But what inevitably happens with these performers is that it backfires, because they leave WWE with something to prove. The Revival will be no different.
As one of those lapsed fans...yeah, this is too much. I hadn’t even heard about some of these matches. The roster is just way too big; there’s a ton of talent that you didn’t even mention, that will I guess be in the battle royals. It sounds like the build has been good at least, but I can’t imagine actually watching…
People complained for years about the catch rule, but I’ve always felt that the downfield coverage calls were a much bigger problem. These plays are completely subjective and often extend or end drives, ultimately having a huge impact on the games. One thing I’d like to see is them eliminate illegal contact, which has…
I have nothing against Charlotte Wilder, but it does seem pretty nuts to me that she’s a senior writer at Sports Illustrated. That title doesn’t mean what it once did, I guess.
I always thought she sounded more like “woman with a sinus infection”, personally.
Man, I remember vividly when he came to WCW. He took Pillman to another level; I’d never seen matches like that before. I’d love to see him get inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame, and maybe have a WrestleMania match next year. There’s certainly plenty of great potential opponents for him.
Every Phillies fan I’ve talked to or heard express an opinion has said that Halliday should go in as a Blue Jay. It’s nice that his family is showing us that deference, but it’s really not necessary. Ford’s column is just bizarre.
I gave up on WWE in November of 2016. I was already down on the product, but their close ties to the president-elect was the last straw for me. Since then, the only thing that has made me rethink that decision has been the return of Daniel Bryan. You’re right, he’s truly an artist, a performer with an almost limitless…
I think the key to defeating Thanos is one of two things: Tony Stark being alive, and the Vision’s mind being in tact when Thanos took the Mind Gem. I think those factors are what Strange saw in the one future where the Avengers win. Their fight with Thanos was never winnable; he was already too powerful. The…
My favorite part: “[t]he last couple of months have been a whirlwind for Philadelphia sports fans. It started in early February...” Published on March 1st.
They still have some good football writers, but the rest of their sports coverage is pretty poor. And the pop culture stuff is quite dreadful, especially when they trot out these nonsensical “weeks”.
Never went, but I remember listening to it in the early years, back when I could still tolerate WIP. I think it changed a lot once competitive eaters started entering and not just people from around the area. Also I can’t believe you didn’t mention that Ric Flair was there.
He’s the worst.
They played for a national championship when Major Harris was the quarterback in the late ‘80s, but that’s pretty much it.
Rooting for this to succeed. I stopped watching wresting a year ago now, though I still check into the news from time to time (mostly through your Deadspin articles, honestly). I know I’ve missed out on the continued rise in indie wrestling, and if this is a success and really launches the indies to a new level, I’ll…
I just wish you guys would’ve danced.
People WAAAAAAAY overvalued the Giants entering the year. Yes, they were 11-5 last year, but many (most?) of those wins were close games over bad teams. The defense was always likely to regress after making such a huge jump forward, and the team utterly ignored its’ biggest problem, the offensive line.
I look forward to avoiding his work from a different company; gonna really freshen things up.
