I’ll toss out a respectful but highly disagree on this because Odyssey’s controls were at least tight and easy to manage in comparison to the slipperiness of the controls in Sunshine and 64, which have not aged well, particularly given that with those, you’re constantly competing and arguing with the camera, whereas

They’re actually going with “Nerdy scientist type gets powers and becomes a supervillain” because they apparently haven’t seen Batman Forever, Catwoman, and Amazing Spiderman 2? The first WW movie was great, but this is a tired trope.

Sounds like they’ll pick people to MAYBE be able to order a PS5 if they’re on record as buying a PS4 and playing it a bunch and using their service, but if you skipped the PS4, you’re unlikely to be able to get this one either?

Very smart and interesting piece. Much the same could (and maybe should?) be written about Lauren Boebert running in Colorado, who shares the same “I’m a young fighter” approach with a shady background, extreme (and proud) ignorance, and a bizarre attachment to lunatic conspiracy theories.

The scale of BOTW and the varied climates and environments also make me feel like I’m traveling, even a bit, when I can’t do so in the real world. It’s much-needed escapism.

I was certain that the gems were going to be in the smoothies.

The reboot was just a red herring!

Who is “Tin Fey?”

STICK TO SPORTS* DAVID GOSH.

I can’t believe we let these people vote first.

What state lets you sell alcohol when you’re not of age to drink it?

I remember deeply envying a friend who had a minimum wage job working at the desk of a local hotel... talk about cushy. Meanwhile, I was busing tables at a diner and then (in the ultimate indignity) working as a cashier at Wal-Mart. The horrors I have seen.

Nailed it. Splinter writers seemed to mistake “We’re having a really good time with each other working here” for “We’re doing quality work.”

All the affection for Splinter is bizarre. I get it, the people working there had fun and good camaraderie, but aside from the occasional solid piece from Hamilton, it was just a lazy, insipid, often-poorly-edited blog rehashing how crazy Trump’s tweets were or hammering how Bernie was the One True God.

With this kind of hostile treatment from Splinter, you’d think Biden had a heart attack and concealed it for three days or something. Oh wait.

No forgiveness, no mercy for deplorable subhuman Trumpist garbage. Cut out their poison from your lives, they are a plague, a disease. They deserve nothing.

Stupid terrible people in a shithole country.

Exactly. When the hell are they going to realize what they’re dealing with? Subpoenas aren’t worth the paper they’re printed on, contempt citations and censure are meaningless to authoritarians who don’t recognize the legitimacy of other branches of government.

It’s natural that a figure who equates himself with the state would call any personal disloyalty treason. It’s buffoonish, but it’s also pure and dangerous authoritarianism.

He is trying to get them killed, and he very well may succeed. This is what the Republican Party is. Burn it to the ground.
