I’m not arguing for open borders, and I don’t think the most important priority is to make the lives of Americans alone better. I’m arguing for massive increases in foreign aid, a system of global welfare if you will, to make the lives of all people worldwide healthier and better.

No one is calling to open the borders, but thanks for the bad faith strawman there. Your complaining about taxes paying for government workers (as just one example) signals you as the right wing troll you are.

The Jewish Nation State Law is the first step in removing the right to vote from non-Jews. Netanyahu has already called to make Arab-Israeli votes not count.

Almost nothing would be better for progressive policy than abolishing the Senate. That alone is an argument worth hearing.

He also refuses to pack the Supreme Court or eliminate the filibuster. His positions on structural issues are shockingly illiberal and bad.

Not well hydrated enough?

And according to our own State Department, Arab citizens face consistent institutional and legal discrimination from the government, which has only grown worse as Netanyahu has explicitly embraced apartheid.

Also his child separation policy (which they insisted at first wasn’t a policy but was an inevitable outcome of the law until they got caught with the policy memos outlining it) was found blatantly unconstitutional and he still insists they’re going to do it because what are the courts going to do when he just decides

For the record, setting up straw men about letting everyone walk in and arguing that we don’t have the money to help them is some real Stephen Miller shit.

I wasn’t concretely advocating it, I was just making the point that yes, we COULD. Not at current American standards of living, not at the level of $1,000 a month, not having the total global population inside American borders, but considering the number of people in the world who live on less than $1 a day, yes, we

Might as well eliminate the middleman and just put the Orchids of Asia lady in charge officially.

I don’t know how to explain to you that you should care about other people.

US GDP is almost $20 trillion.

Given their denial of basic civil and political rights to Arab Israelis, they’re not a democracy.

As always, the cruelty is the point.

We literally could afford to be the world’s welfare if we chose to. No one is making that case, but it’s a fact.

In comparison, they are fine, and we do need to throw our support to poor Guatemalans and Hondurans. Just because people won’t like it doesn’t make it untrue.

I’m still waiting for that Splinter rant about his record on gun control or demanding his tax returns that they would give any other candidate if they held the same positions.

It must have killed the editors’ souls to publish this headline. If Beto or another candidate said the same thing, the headline would instead be an ALL CAPS call for pitchforks and torches.

Members of the cult of Bernie will never acknowledge errors by their dear leader, even when they’re patently obvious. It’s getting a little creepy.
