No problem! It’s a pretty complicated system to parse.

The info you have on maternity leave entitlements in CA is actually still not entirely complete. CFRA does entitle moms (and dads!) to 12 weeks within a 12-month period after the birth, but that is in addition to state-mandated short-term disability insurance coverage starting at week 36 of a normal pregnancy, and

Our cat has shown limited to no interest in any of the cat accoutrements we have bought her over the years, but she recently liberated a roll of butcher’s twine from a cupboard and it may be the best thing that has ever happened to her. She enjoys unrolling it throughout our apartment while we sleep, and having us

Much as I’d love a dishwasher, I somehow doubt this will convince my landlord to install one. Our water is included in our rent, and she just loves to bitch about how much of it we use (ironically not that much since our hot water heater can only produce enough for a five minute shower), especially now that she’s

I had exactly the same problem with the first iteration of Crest Whitestrips, and would only be able to use maybe half the strips before the sensitivity became unbearable, but I did one of the new 14 day kits last summer and had no trouble whatsoever getting through the whole set. Not even minor sensitivity.

I had the misfortune of being interviewed by her for a column she wrote years and years ago, and she somehow managed to be incredibly unprofessional and offensive despite what should have been totally innocuous subject matter. She is a real piece of work.

Thank you! Yes, we are doing our best to prepare her as much as we can, but it’s definitely going to be a big transition. We’ve been making a lot of changes to our apartment to make room for the baby, which she loves because she has all sorts of new places to curl up, but she’s a pretty shy cat who doesn’t like a lot

I WANT ONE but I have a sneaking suspicion that if I were to bring home a new baby and a new cat in the space of a few weeks, the cat we already have would mutiny...

I love oil cleansers for makeup removal...I have been using Josie Maran Argan Cleansing Oil lately, followed by Sunday Riley Ceramic Slip Clay Cleanser on my clean face, and my skin is looking really good despite not being able to use most of my regular skincare products due to being knocked up.

In Paris, one of my favorite things to do after a busy morning of sightseeing is buy a bottle of wine, go sit in Place des Vosges (there are many other wonderful parks where you could do the same, but for some reason I am partial to this one), and read for a few hours.

We were robbed a little over a year ago, and just being present was hands down the most traumatic thing that has ever happened to our cat. She managed to unbutton our duvet cover so she could climb inside the duvet, and stayed there for at least eight hours just to be safe, even after my husband and later I came home

Dunkin’ Donuts sausage, egg and cheese on an English muffin is one of the main reasons I exclusively take redeyes when traveling back East - that way I can stop for one as soon as leave the airport.

I agree with you. Plus, presumably she is in LA, and produce tends to be significantly cheaper in California because a lot of it comes from there and a lot of it comes from nearby Mexico. I live in SF and know of a number of neighborhood markets where you could buy all the fresh produce she has pictured for about $10.

Keene represent! I don’t actually live in NH anymore but I get irrationally excited whenever my home state pops up.

We were at a resort in Mexico, and had a studio suite on one of the top floors of the hotel's main tower with a balcony overlooking the pools and the ocean beyond. A couple of days into our weeklong trip, he wanted to take a nap in the room while I wanted to read in the hot tub on the balcony, so we left the sliding

Beautifully put!

I like High Beam a lot too. Besides using it as a highlighter, I mix a few drops into my foundation or BB cream if I want a more luminous look.

Yup, the leaving behind balls of product was my complaint too! Then they'd flake off mid-day and I'd wind up with black dots all over my cheeks. I haven't even bothered to try to use it up...I just went back to my pot gel liner and if I need a really clean swoosh for a special occasion I use tape.

If you like gels, Tarte also has a waterproof gel liner that is legit also. I bought it for my wedding after liking the ultra waterproof nature of Benefit's They're Real! Push-Up Liner but haaaaaaating the delivery system, and let me tell you, it does not budge. Apparently they recently changed the packaging and name

I haven't tried the Sephora ones but I have found that a lot of sunscreens with a thicker, more cream-like formula tend to pill. I'm pretty loyal to Algenist's Ultra Lightweight UV Defense Fluid SPF 50...it absorbs really well, although it is a little on the pricey side.
