I had exactly the same problem with the first iteration of Crest Whitestrips, and would only be able to use maybe half the strips before the sensitivity became unbearable, but I did one of the new 14 day kits last summer and had no trouble whatsoever getting through the whole set. I haven't tried the Sephora ones but I have found that a lot of sunscreens with a thicker, more cream-like formula tend to pill. I'm pretty loyal to Algenist's Ultra Lightweight UV Defense Fluid SPF 50...it absorbs really well, although it is a little on the pricey side.
