Thank you! We’ve got about seven weeks to go, so plenty of time to bring even the least tech savvy of them up to speed (seriously, my mom needs help navigating to Google).

My mom was a helicopter parent before it was a thing, which ultimately didn’t do my brothers and me any favors, and I always thought that once I had kids, I’d use a lot of what she did as a guide for what not to do. I mean, I love her to death, she is the most unconditionally loving, freely giving person I have ever…
I’m glad I’m not the only one whose first thought was, “You best back up, bitch, robin’s egg blue is MY favorite color!”
I hadn’t thought of that! We’re probably 50/50 iPhone/Android but I think each of the sets of grandparents has an iPad, so that would totally work. Thanks!
I plan on doing this too. We live far away from both of our families, but the grandmothers demand nonstop photos, and Instagram seems like the simplest way to give them what they want. As soon as we pick a name, I am locking that account down.
We recently upgraded from mismatched pint glasses to an actual set of glasses that match, and having four identical drinking vessels to choose from is causing my husband an unbelievable amount of confusion. This past weekend I found three of them half full...in the same two foot square section of countertop. I…
I've been thinking a lot about "mom hair" lately - I'm 33 weeks pregnant, haven't cut my hair since last August, and though it's been growing like weeds for the past seven months the bottom third is still pretty damaged from heat styling a couple of times a week. Part of me is like, it's time to start fresh and just…
My policy is to only post about pregnancy/baby related stuff if it’s funny. I don’t harbor the delusion that anyone but me, my husband, and the grandparents really care about the fetus I’m incubating, but when there’s humor involved, people seem to appreciate it.
What I don’t understand is why so many people (on my feed at least) seem to post like, five nearly identical pictures that were obviously taken one after the other. Why would you not just choose the best one? Doesn’t make any sense to me.
I’m with you. I think kittens - even full grown cats! - are exponentially cuter than babies. I’m also like 33 weeks pregnant atm so I’m interested to see if my perspective changes once I pop this baby out. I mean, there’s just no way she will outcute our cat...or will she?
I mean, it's better than a brick through the window, right?
I didn't have a malfunction at the wedding, but I almost didn't have a wedding dress at all.
This is me too. My nose is almost imperceptibly crooked IRL but it results in a lot of weird angles on camera.
I did my own wedding makeup. I got married in my middle-of-nowhere hometown in NH and would have had to pay someone to travel in from Boston for the day, which seemed a little OTT (or out of budget more like!). I used to work for a makeup company years ago so I have some training and knew I could do a credible job,…
We did little bottles of maple syrup. Everyone got smashed and then did maple syrup shots. It was great.
It adds up so fast. We saved a ton of money by holding our wedding in the small town I grew up in rather than the big expensive city where we live or the other big expensive city where my husband grew up, but we still wound up spending somewhere in the neighborhood of $25K (and I am not counting rings in that total…
I managed to avoid ever setting foot at a wedding show since I got married in my hometown on the opposite coast and did most of my wedding planning long distance. I did, however, send my mom to one and it worked out great - she was in her element talking about wedding stuff all day long, and I was subsequently mailed…
My husband is maaaaaaybe two inches taller than me and our reception was on a farm, so I needed a low heel. I wanted something in aqua since all my bridesmaids were in varying shades of aqua/turquoise/teal, and it was SO hard to find a kitten heel that would coordinate - I almost gave up and went with a metallic on a…
Actually CA covers pregnancy under short-term disability...so in addition to the six weeks of coverage under Paid Family Leave, basically every pregnant woman in CA is eligible for four weeks of SDI prior to her due date, and six to eight weeks after. So if you're a pregnant woman in California, you're eligible for…
