I think they are trying to respond to the criticism that they have “done nothing” except investigate the president, which is a thing a lot of people believe. I’d argue that those are voters we can’t get anyway, and that this just makes Trump look like a person who governed for a second instead.

I think it is ALWAYS stupid to release a piece of pop culture about RIGHT NOW without the benefit of hindsight to understand it better. It’s going to be cheesy and, if it even works at all, it’s going to have a shelf life of like 6 months.

I think she’s also the only frontrunner whose polling hasn’t bounced around - it seems to me to be a sign that her support is steadfast and that every time she opens her mouth more people like her.

I can see it if you take a really cynical view - that we can only elect people who fit in a certain mold and are a certain amount of terrible. I don’t believe this, but I can understand why people would. What I don’t understand is the people who think he can beat Trump because he is somehow the only one who can drive…

Yeah their stranglehold on our government is strong, but it’s fragile. They need every vote that they can get.

I am not so sure the Dems lose their teeth if Trump is out - I think a chunk of Trump’s base will be angry at “establishment” Republicans if they oust him.

Yeah I hope so too. I mean, Trump might be immune from criminal prosecution but the rest of them aren’t. They’re probably thinking of ways to scapegoat each other too.

They’re on lockdown trying to get the story straight. For the past two weeks, every time someone defends him he literally reverses it within hours. They say, “well he didn’t do that” then he confesses to doing exactly that later on.
