It does not even remotely surprise me that delegates didn’t show up. My husband and I caucused for Sanders in our state; the first time we’d ever gone to a caucus. Sanders won our state, and delegates were selected at the caucus. Neither of us volunteered to be delegates. We didn’t put our names in to be delegates,

Does it honestly not bother you that Bernie supporters are sending death threats to a woman who, as far as I can tell, was just doing her job? I get wanting to have positive coverage of your preferred candidate, but any coverage of the event that leaves out the booing and death threats is still pretty slanted - it’s

I mean, you fuck one goat and they call you a goat fucker.

The threats are bad enough, but what I was struck by was the mysogynistic nature of many (most?) of them. It’s clear this is much deeper than some politic or even personal preference differences as it relates to politics. It’s about who Lange is and what she represents to these people, and that should make people even

The lack of organizing has been the death of the Sanders campaign. They put all their money into huge rallies, TV ads, and internet presence. They trained no one. His supporters do not understand the process, so they’re all ready to believe whatever ridiculous conspiracy theory or imaginary delegate math scenarios

“it goes without saying that I condemn any and all forms of violence, including the personal harassment of individuals.”

This comment is just ... ugh. It’s like there is a vacuum of self-awareness around Bernie and many of his supporters. And every time I hear someone say that women are only voting for Hillary because she’s a woman it makes me crazy. I am supporting Hillary Clinton because of her demonstrated leadership on women’s

She helped pass MASSIVE grants where I lived for housing projects and school funds mostly to the poor neighborhoods or at least openly supported it. I remember when most black community leaders supported the Crime Bill too - it was a scary time.

And in the 90s people need to understand that even the black community felt that our neighborhoods were being preyed upon. And the crack epidemic was destroying us. Obviously now it was the wrong policy. But if people want to understand why this isn’t hurting her with the black community it’s because many of us felt

Ooh, another fav :

I also want to add historical context. By the 90's there was an increase in gang violence and drug usage and a lot of Black leaders at the time wanted these measures to get people off the streets. There were people at the time who saw that this would be the result but they were a vocal minority.

Ok, so I had a bunch of white people telling me how minorities should vote for Bernie because he’s obviously so good for us and why can’t we just realise that??!!

I don’t think calling them morons and jamokes and dinguses and slow-witted white dorks in their best Sunday camo is handling them with kid gloves. I don’t think the solution to the imbalanced application of law enforcement in the United States is for the heavy-handed destructiveness wrongfully applied in certain
