@ the article author. The last paragraph of this article exonerates this man but nobody is reading that far. You might consider reorganizing the article so the lazy skimmers understand the man didnt keep the ball and why it was handed to his wife.

Clearly you didnt read the rest of this story, the guy handed it to his wife who took a picture of it then gave it to the kid. He IS a nice guy. 

The Beardmore and the Austins were competitors. Austin won though. This car is not from the 30's but from the mid to late 60's. They were originally fitted with a Ford Consul Mark II drivetrain. Austin employed the Nissan motors.

And with all 4 doors it would have been built after 1964, prior to that they were 3 door cars.

I imagine they are using the rear wheel for the electric hub and braking. Judging be the cone shaped stub sticking out of the side of the car I would also imagine they expect some sort of quick release knockoff nut similar to F1 cars.
