I think William is lazy and Harry gets away with a lot because he’s the more charismatic brother but anyone who suddenly decided this year that Harry is whiney is just trying to enforce the stigmas against talking about therapy and is a raging asshole.

When my son, at age 7, saw the first transition (he’d heard the mythology, but hadn’t watched the NuWho shows yet) — he said “but, can the Doctor transform into a woman, too?” and I said “yes, Time Lords can, and I don’t think they have power or control over what they change into. Which is interesting in itself.” And

I had a lengthy argument on here with a self-proclaimed MRA who was saying one of the reasons he was an MRA was because he wanted to be able to teach his son how to be a good man. He clarified that he wanted to be able to teach his son qualities he thinks make a good man (I’m sure they were things like strength,

But minorities and women should just shut up and be able identify with all the white males that are already out there because of....reasons!

Why do people forget this? I’ve only watched NuWho but I still know about Romana and the Rani. And Missy is right there, for chrissakes.

Jodie Whittaker would be able to play the first female Time Lord

What about the little girls watching? It never crossed his mind that little girls want positive female role models too.

Did Davidson play the role using his penis as the sonic screwdriver?

“If I feel any doubts, it’s the loss of a role model for boys, who I think Doctor Who is vitally important for. So I feel a bit sad about that, but I understand the argument that you need to open it up.

And nowhere on the internet is there a way to watch old episodes of Doctor Who so that boys can have that role model! Those poor, deprived boys who have literally no space captains, wizards, ninjas, aliens, presidents, historical figures, athletes, fathers, actors, or knights to look up to!

It’s almost like girls are taught to empathize with people. ;)

How could they possibly look up to someone different from them?

its a back handed compliant to say she is a good actress then say boys will lose a role model. So a character can still be cool and a role model if they are female.

It’s not like all the previous Doctor Whos are erased. Even if boys somehow can’t pattern their behavior on a female-bodied anything, boys have exactly as many role models as they did before this announcement.

That’s the closest to a coherent point against the female doctor that we’ve had, but I think it still fails by a long shot. Colin Baker has the exact right response: Why does a role model need to be of the same gender?

Fuck ‘em. Why you angry about my opinion?

“maybe I’m an old fashioned dinosaur”

So does this mean they are retroactively replacing all the old episodes with a digitally recreated woman?

How can boys look up to a fictional shapeshifting alien if said alien has tits?

Yes, who will boys look up to now? It’s not like there are that many powerful male figures in entertainment, especially in the sci-fi realm. WON’T SOMEONE THINK OF THE BOY CHILDREN?!?
