It sounds like this DLC uses a lot of that staggering amount of background information about the characters lives. When playing prey i got the impressiont hey put a lot of effort into figuring out why the NPC where where they were when they died and who they were in life.

I really liked the game. I think one of its best features is basically it doesnt care how you get to locations, if you figure out how to pass by things you can get past them regardless of where you are in the main story.
