Its quite likely. Paizo produced a lot of good “ here’s how to run a more in depth game” supliments (ultimate campaign for example) you see a lot of these ideas incorporated into 5e.

Yeah, i remember when i first tried doing the self sufficient oxygen/hydrogen power setup sometimes the wrong gases would would get pumped the wrong direction and ensuing disaster would happen.

I dont know if this is helpful but i seem to recall its useful to build an Arch over your electrolizers it helps gather the Hydrogen and avoids mixing gasses when you pump them to another room. That said i havent kept up with recent builds for he game and it may be this isnt needed anymore.
