You'd be surprised how many inept stylists and makeup artists are out there. Hell, I remember being in Montreal for fashion week and seeing Mary Greenwell(makeup legend) do a model's makeup and it looked TERRIBLE. She had no idea what she was doing/saying.

Her makeup artist used HD silica powder, which looks like cocaine under flash photography. You have to be a real newbie to make the mistake of using that stuff.
