No? Just me being insufferably anal retentive?

Is no one bothered by the obvious anachronism of someone playing Roxette's "The Look" when the series is supposed to take place in 1985?
God yes. I haven't heard the one from Jackie, but her work on Under the Skin was some of the most noteworthy stuff I've heard in years. Really great (and the sound design on that movie is amazing).
Dziga Vertov's Man With a Movie Camera is no-argument, stone-cold cinema classic; even at damn near a hundred years old, it's very entrancing. Please make the time to watch it properly. Dark room, right music, no interruptions.
And some of the specials they aired, like the Halloween one, were stone-cold tv classics in my youth. Learned about a lot of great music this way.

Actually, as much as I love Lambs, the Demme movie that really kills it for me is Philadelphia. I was watching it one weekend while I was sick as a dog and high on medication. Even through the fog (or perhaps because of it), I was struck by how elegant the movie is and how much story is hidden behind closeups. Just…
God, I loved Dredd so much. It was a Friday 7 PM show on opening day here in CR. The missus stayed home because she doesn't care for the overly violent stuff. I blazed a spliff about 15 minutes before the movie, bought a soda and sat down, smack dab in the center of a completely EMPTY movie theater with great 3D,…
No love for the Tech Noir reference?
Not sure if this happens to people from LA or New York, but I have a big problem with movies filmed locally. Since I can identify most of the places on screen, any movie that screws around with geographical location or the distance between locations in relation to one another just destroys my suspension of disbelief.…
I can certainly understand where you are coming from. I myself am not Asian and now that I'm older can recognize that much about Short Round (and Temple of Doom in general) had more than a bit of racial caricature. But as a kid, I loved him as a character because he was pretty badass. He was usually right about…
After watching Shatner's docu "The Captains", I can get an idea of why no interview with Avery Brooks has been scheduled, but is there another reason for this? A more specific one?
