I’ve known of her but as a country strand then her 1989 album came out with “Shake it Off” and my little girl thought it was so fun to dance to. Then we got that CD for my little to dance to and then one of my friends showed me the video for Bad Blood and I thought it was a fun video, bond girl types. So my little

“Mean” is one of my go-to running jams. I might have to stretch the ol’ legs tonight in Taylor’s honor.

“Swift said in a statement following the verdict that she would donate an unspecified amount of money to unspecified organizations that aid in the defense of sexual assault victims.”

Not a settlement. A verdict. The jury gave her nominal damages because that’s what she requested.

The best part of the Taylor Swift verdict is that it was a countersuit, meaning HE sued HER first. He groped her and got fired, but instead of accepting the consequences of his actions, he sued her. The creep just cannot stop racking up the Ls, and I’m HERE FOR IT.

I have no interest in her music but that testimony gave me the chills. So awesome!

I go to a lot of concerts, but haven’t been able to see her. I want to though!

I was neutral on Taylor Swift prior to this lawsuit. I now have a newfound respect for her. She acknowledges she has the privilege and bank account to fight. Her $1 settlement is an enormous win for all of us women who have been sexually assaulted (which sadly, is most women).

And he’s now acknowledging that she wrote the lyrics AND the melody. I don’t care about these people particularly or have a side, but if anyone is coming off as a nightmare it’s the guy who is throwing a tantrum over acknowledging that someone else wrote the music and lyrics for the hit song he produced.

He really is performing at peak shitty ex-boyfriend level right now. Casting himself as the victim of Taylor’s totally understandable desire to taken credit for her own work - like, fuck this so much.

Taylor has writing credit for 75% of the song (not just lyrics- lyrics and music) and 100% publishing control of it. she is clearly the primary songwriter and clearly came up with the melody.

Who cares if she leaked it! She wrote the song! She can take credit or not take credit for it however she likes. That doesn’t make Calvin Harris a victim or justify his weird speculation about her new life.

EXACTLY. This is classic manbaby behavior, like a guy slowly devolving on Tinder because you don’t respond in 2 minutes.

Woman writes hit song. Declines to take credit for it until conspiracy theories/obvious logic leads fans/tabloids to the story. Confirms it in one very straightforward sentence because she feels no obligation to protect the fiction she and her ex-boyfriend spun about it. Deserves credit. Did write song.
