"man flu" in british colloquial terms is when a bloke gets sick and complains about it / feels sorry for himself 10x more than the opposite sex would. It's a jokey ridiculing term... taking the piss out of men for making martyrs of themselves when they're sick. Just to clarify, it's not a boastful term.

Having given birth twice and experienced both twice - gas and air is awesome and works as an analgesic plenty fine - maybe not for you personally but certainly so for thousands of women including myself here in the UK where gas and air is routine.
