For me too it became too much of a chore when I was just into Destiny and Division. Trying to keep up with events and seasons just drained me and I can’t imagine playing more at a time. Same with Niantic games, I’ve tried their other stuff thanks to pokemon go but I could never stick with it because each game required

80% of my kid’s gaming time is spent in Minecraft. They might stop and play the new hotness for a day or two, but then it’s right back to building with virtual blocks.

Its the MMO thing all over again. Everyone was trying to get inon that sub money WoW had - and no one could really do it. Everyone one of them spent a ton of money and fizzled. It took how many years and a massive reboot before FFXIV came along?? That is a lot of studio time and money dumped in the trash heap.

We’ve reached a point in the games industry where trends are moving faster than development cycles, and the results are calamitous.

It’s just dehumanizing “sheeple” or Holden Caulfield’s “phonies” repackaged for the 21st century. The NPC term is very online but the narcissism isn’t.

This is 100% it. Every time you see one of these guys saying “There’s heaps of people walking around with no life behind their eyes” what they actually mean is “I saw someone who wasn’t paying full, enthusiastic, positive attention to me and I don’t understand it.”

Not sure how. Apple has shown time and again that they have no interest in gaming. If they decided to make all EA games exclusive to Macs, EA would do nothing but bleed money. I guess they could make have EA make iOS exclusives but, again, what’s the point? iOS already has the dominant market share in the western

Prospective buyer: “Hmmmm... has your company won any awards?”

Utterly predictable, utterly disgusting.

In case you were wondering how this was received:

Thanks for continuously reporting these stories (and the memos). The more it’s out there, the more they can’t run from it. Keep this issue visible.

Capitalism is freaking out in general over the way Millennials and younger are doing everything. They’re tired of it, and the wealthy people at the top are freaking out. Ads don’t work, traditional brands and service models are being rejected, people are tired of being paid shit wages, cars aren’t being bought, houses

The difference is if I’m being charged 70 dollars for a game I don’t want to see another god damn titty game ad.

Gotta love how there are entire companies out there that exist just to solve the “problem” that younger people aren’t being bombarded with ads every single moment of our fucking lives.

I think in the context of a series that’s almost 20 years old, with so many entries, it’s perfectly acceptable to both compare it to that series, and talk about what you think the series should have done by now. Which means talking about what it didn’t do. Plenty of game reviews should, have, and will talk about what

They don’t have much to go on these days since half the staff got laid off.
