Kinja gentrification has brought in a lot of humorless outsiders, creating a Caddyshack-like snobs vs. slobs dynamic on comments sections relating to news items. Any time someone makes a joke under a story that’s remotely serious, the moral outrage erupts immediately.

And I’m also really looking forward to The

“They made Bruce Jenner switch teams dude. Bruce Fucking Jenner!!!”

I can’t stand to hear him speak. If he says anything of consequence, I’ll read it in a transcript later. I can never stand to hear him speak.

Barely.

I’m born and bred New York. So I may be biased, but is it me or is Jay’s maturation from tremendous, prodigious, precocious young talent into mature, wise and even woke thought leader somewhat reminiscent of the Beastie Boys’ similar transition?

OH THANK GOD IT WASN’T RACISM! I thought it was maybe racism, but since you were asked about surfing which is the exact same as implying an entire nation is illiterate or has yet to move beyond pre-Colonial modes of transportation which implies a larger lack of “civilization,” it is ALL GOOD.

Just do a weekly Spotify Playlist for us already man....

Came here to say the SAME shit.

Yup. This article is nonsense. Asking your kid about their day isn’t some sort of inquisition anymore than asking a coworker how their day is going. You can simply let it be a way to welcome them home after school and open the door to conversation if they want it. Years of doing this and typically I get responses when

I agree, and don’t really get the point here. Of course your kids are going to grunt at you and not want to talk. Tough shit for them. lol

Yeah, this article is really cynical and is even more condescending to kids by assuming they don’t want to talk to anyone. My daughter is 12, so she’s not always pleasant to be around and doesn’t always want to talk. I usually ask her, “Anything different happen at school today?” This lets her know that I realize most

Boy, it’d be a shame if all the dissenting comments were never approved to show a different opinion. Sure makes me want to chime in.

I think you could simmer down a bit on this one. Unfortunately, as parents, we’re the ones that need to ensure our kids are being responsible in school, behaving correctly, getting things done, etc. Some kids are great and do great in school, so when they get home and you greet them with ‘hey, it’s great to see you’

Dude, have you seen the trailers??? It’s gonna be lit, no matter what came before it.

Counterpoint: My parents never asked me about my day. I promise you, that is far far worse.

Thetans. Thetans never change.
