I can’t believe I’m watching yet another Marvel show centered on the plot “villains dig mysterious hole in major city.”

On the upside being a loyal Browns fan is plus 55,000 thousand points to you which means you have an excellent chance of going to The Good Place.

Since I know a lot of readers enjoy the behind-the-scenes moments, here’s how this interview went down:

What the flippity fuck are you on about?

Awesome: in a last-second bid to up 2017’s descent level of shittiness, I get my very own troll.

Not really sure why you’re so up in arms about the fact that I didn’t mention a number of specifics that weren’t relevant to the conversation at hand, but for what it’s worth, I am well familiar with The Comic Strip, having watched the episodes when MTV aired them on Sunday evenings back in the late ‘80s. But the fact

The fact there’s a glowing lesbian, super strong little girl and gothic witch but somehow the parents are the most entertaining is an inditement of how badly this show is failing the goddamn kids.

If you’re going to say it’s not a Democrat or Republican issue, tell the Republicans. Look how they rally around Donald Trump and Roy Moore, but how the Democrats demanded Al Franken step down. There’s no equivalence. The Republicans are choosing tribalism over their duty, over decency, over country.

The Yorkes continued to rule for me in this episode as the parents were involved in both the most emotionally affecting scene with Molly as well as bringing the humor to saving Victor. They are such a treasure for this show.

“Next.”

Well done. I see echoes of Allison Williams’ anecdote everywhere. The latest example is the results of the Alabama Senate race — white women on Jezebel were tripping over themselves to distance themselves from the fact that 63% of white women voted for the racist pedophile (Um, it wasn’t college-educated women! It’s

God, I can’t even fathom anyone walking away from Get Out and not understanding that not only was Rose evil, but she was the most evil one of all. To me, that was so fucking clear. She is the one who knows all the right words to say, lures innocent people into her lair, and treasures her prowess by having a goddamn

Anne, I have to say that usually I love the depth and analysis of your writing, but this piece was just...there was something more personal to it for me that really resonated.

Everything has coded messages though, hidden or not. Why? Because that’s how media and culture works. We give material objects meaning through social practice. This movie is no different in that regard. Like, yes you’re not wrong that a story is a story, but the point of a story is to convey something. And what’s

I feel like that made it all the more hilarious.

IV was hand-picked by Roger Ebert to audition for and eventually co-host the ill-fated Ebert Presents: At the Movies. He’s been writing here for 4 years.

Have you stopped by The Avocado yet? That’s where a large portion of the commenters have been since the Kinja exodus. I’m still hanging around here (mostly for the writing of IV, AA, O’Neal, and A History of VIolence, which only has one column left), but I have been posting some movie reviews on The Avocado and other

Glad I’m not the only fellow making FRINGE observations.

September’s cryopod looks just like my old T-Mobile flip-phone from 2006.

Yeah I can’t believe the racial politics of this...the ostensibly ugly Orcs are associated with hiphop and gang culture and clearly coded to be the movie’s African Americans, while the elves are the most beatific and clearly coded to be whites. It’s pretty stunning.
