I end up watching the show in the gym on Friday mornings (I'm teaching when it's actually on during the week) and I was doing whatever I could not to laugh at this sequence too. I've never seen Tracee Ellis Ross in anything (I know, I know!), but my goodness she is fantastic in this.

Good for you! I hope it works out.

I grabbed the pre-sequel out of Redbox last weekend to see how it was, and I liked it. The entire series is just so fantastic-the art design, the characters, the world building. It's so distinctive and such a nice departure from other mainstream games.

Congrats!

Yay a tennis fan!

Chiming in mostly to say-I remember applying for grad school! I was working full time and although it was stressful, looking back I'm glad that I was distracted from feeling a lot of pressure getting my applications together.

Simona Halep has had an extraordinary year-I really enjoy watching her play. I'm shocked to see the scoreline against Serena, but then again, she does have her days.
I think I may be more shocked to see the 'Wozniacki', 'exciting', and 'match' in the same sentence!

All of your good things made me smile, for what it's worth. Also, if by 'spoiled twit' you mean 'young person that is doing things they love/enjoy, and is self-aware enough to recognize his/her good fortune' then, yes, you are a spoiled twit.

I wish I could like this 100 times.

The fan service in that show is another thing that I was pretty fed up with. I remember reading fan complaints about pretty much every single recurring female character, but so many of them seemed to come from 'omg I'm kinda jealous that this character is interacting with MY Sam/Dean' or 'I can't relate to this female

A high school history teacher I had given us an assignment (it was one choice among others) to go see Schindler's List and I fainted during the film. It was super embarrassing, I fell out of my chair in front of a bunch of my classmates. I've still never seen the entire film.

Oh thank goodness I'm not the only one that sobbed through most of Wall-E . I was audibly crying, it was embarrassing, and just when I thought I'd pulled myself together, something else would happen and I'd start bawling all over again. I think the loudest sobbing was whenever either Eve or Wall-E are unresponsive to

That's Race for your life, Charlie Brown.
Oh, and Snoopy, Come Home has never failed to make me cry.

I don't really miss Chicago all that much, but there are a few things in Chicago that I miss dearly, and The Music Box is one of them. :(

I just went back to look at that review and realized that it was posted almost exactly a year ago!

My friends and I were all sitting around at the Denny's by my high school in April 1994 trying to process Kurt Cobain killing himself. The previous December I'd gone to my first concert- Nirvana/Breeders/Melvin's.

I definitely prefer The Shooting (I love the ending), but I think they're interesting as a double feature.

So excited to hear about the Hellman release! I'm writing about both films in my dissertation and I had to make an ISO of a DVD I borrowed from a library in Australia in order to see them. I'm also very glad that both films are coming out instead of just 'The Shooting', which I think is probably slightly better known.

I think it's the latter. Deadspin has a disclaimer that says they are NSFW while they get rid of the gif trolls.
