I never finished 1. Did most of it but it seemed like way too much walking around to deal with quests and became very boring. I tried several times to get into 2 and never got much more than an hour or two into the game.

I don't think that's the only issue here, bad early release. Steam has a terrible website for searching, they have terrible customer service, and no return policy no matter what the issue.
I actually switched over to my seldom used xbox 360 controller because the PC controls were awful, but the combat was still awful. It seems like a series that just can't find the right interface.
