It makes sense that there would be a lot of love for pointless abstract films that “experts” can hold over everyone’s collective head and simply say, “You don’t get it.”

Which maybe includes gathering information independently, by watching people who know more than you about a particular subject speak on said subject. Weird, right?

After discussing with others, I eventually hit on why this movie came across so bad. Every single character is comic relief. All of them. Including the freaking army. There is not a single straight man/woman to be seen anywhere. The result is dud after dud because there is nothing to land against.

This show needs longer time jumps. Many of these things could be avoided if they would just admit to themselves that they started this story way too early for what they clearly want to do with it.
