Looking at this picture just reminds me that these characters were grown men (Spock actually being more of an old man, even more so than McCoy). When you put them next to the Abrams characters, it makes the difference even more stark. The Abrams characters are children playing dress-up. It hard to take them seriously…

Kirk Spock and McCoy, the three legged stool. that is the problem with the JJ verse, he's always off by 33.3%. Kirk needs McCoy just as much as he needs Spock, and out of that grew a tremendous bond for the three of them.

I was totally going to post that!! My main problem with Abrams' Star Trek is that the bromance is between all three of them. You can't just leave out Bones! Especially since he's my favorite one...
