Real people have faces!! Kiss those!!!!
That's technically the difference between Golden Age Superman and Silver Age Superman. The first only had super strength, speed, and invulnerability. Jumping really high was part of that. There were a lot of character differences, like that the Kents died before he left for Metropolis and he never went around the…
In a statement that highlights some real truths about their friendship/rivalry, Batman has announced that he to, will be forgoing pants, just to prove that one does not have to be Kryptonian to fight crime au naturel. A mountain of money and years of training make Batman just as good as Superman at showing the world…
Haven't his powers developed over time as he was exposed to more and more radiation from the sun? So when he was a child, though still powerful, he was more vulnerable than he is now, making it possible. Though, if he was found as a toddler, not an infant, getting a circumcision is harder. Most doctors will do it…
Iron Man II started to skirt the edge of having good characters, but fell short. The fact that they had two ladies (instead of the obligatory one) and that they talked to each other about something besides Tony was pretty astounding, given the genre history.
Yes, but is parallel dimension GL going to do better in the theater than ours (assuming it's the same movie with different marketing)?
Just so much to love here.
I agree in the way they seem to playing him. He is acting much more like Kyle than like Hal. And I know that Hal was revamped lately to make him more smarmy and fast talking, but I'm not for that. Hal is a stick in the mud, and I love him for that. He is a loveable stick in the mud. If you want a fast talking…
You joke, but putting a more human face (or other parts) front and center to assure possible viewers that this is a movie about people, not flying space monsters, would be a great move. Also, it would reasure me that there will be women in this film who do more than act as a sounding board for Hal's self doubt.
Very, very little. He blew people away in those trailers. It was clear from the marketing that he was a great choice and that brought a lot of interest to the film.
"And the point of the marketing thus far appears to be reassuring die-hard fans rather than winning over newbies"
I'm all for studying the 'paranormal' but I think the first thing to do it know where to put our resources. With a case like this, when the best minds in the field spend a long time using the best tools to investigate and didn't find anything, then it's time for them to move on. Does that mean that the study should…
Promoted primarily because of the Skeptic's Guide to the Universe reference, but also for your over all awesomeness.
One more comment -
I've heard a lot about this recently and it just seems like the hunt for this animal is heading into the cryptozological territory. Don't get me wrong, I think we should still see if it (and in fact 'actual' cryptids) are out there, but the number of people who have gone looking for it, the distinctiveness of the…
Most of the disasters happened either before or after the weddings in Farscape.
To be replaced by Thor (or possibly something much worse) in five, four, three....
Accept at middle of the road you never get any real bonuses to your powers. Top or bottom out with light or dark and you get some awesome multipliers to your powers.
The two I know off the top of my head are 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea and The Meteor Hunt (or maybe the Golden Meteor), both translated by Walter Miller and Fredrick Walker. As far as I know those are the only books those two have done together but I just adore both translations. I used to have some sort of link to…
